My journey so far

Apostolos

Koumarinos

Apostolos is an international keynote speaker, public speaking champion, podcaster, and the Founder of theSPEAKERS, the leading public speaking and communication education organization in Greece.

His work blends systemic psychotherapy, philosophy, and innovative own techniques to help individuals and teams communicate with impact, clarity and confidence through active listening in moments that matter.

At school, then at university, in relationships, in the companies I collaborated with, and in everyday conversations, I watched capable people lose clarity not from a lack of intelligence, but because their words carried fear, urgency, or unexamined habits.

Over time, I began to understand communication as a deeply human act.

How language shapes thought.
How presence shapes trust.
How active listening shapes relationships.
How a single conversation can alter direction.

My path led me through systemic phychotherapy, oral communication, and leadership practice, and eventually to the stage. As a place where ideas could meet real people, in real time.

Today, I work with leaders, organizations, CEOs and international audiences who want to communicate with clarity and responsibility in moments that matter. As the founder of theSPEAKERS, I have helped shape the modern communication and public speaking landscape in Greece, while my work continues to expand internationally.

Whether through keynotes, workshops, or writing, my focus remains the same: to help people speak in a way that aligns intention, action, and human connection.

After more than 1,200 speeches, I’ve learned that active listening is the most impactful communication skill.

1983 – I was born in Montreal, Canada, to Greek parents who had moved there in search of a better future in the 1970s.

1988 – We returned to Greece. My early childhood was not easy, and I grew up navigating a sense of transition and displacement.

2010 – I graduated from the MBA program at Nottingham Business School and began participating in rhetorical and public speaking classes in Athens.

2012 – I moved to Matera, Italy, in search of better professional opportunities.

2015 – A formative year. I founded my first rhetoric club and became Greece’s National Champion in Impromptu Speaking.

2016 – I co-founded a second rhetoric club in the northern suburbs of Athens.

2017 – I delivered my first major public talk at the Athens Science Festival, with an audience of over 250 people.

2018 – One of the most significant years of my life. I founded theSPEAKERS, an innovative self-development lab focused on public speaking and communication.

2019 – I delivered seventeen public talks in Athens with no financial return. The work continued regardless. The vision mattered more than the profit.

2020 – I had the honor of hosting world-renowned author and speaker Robin Sharma on an Instagram Live, with over 35,000 viewers in just 40 minutes.

2021 – One of the most difficult years of my life. My father passed away. Three weeks later, I resigned from my role as an international sales manager to dedicate myself fully to theSPEAKERS.

2023 – My first book was published. The Public speaKING Guide, a practical communication tool designed to help anyone prepare for a speech or presentation in under three hours, became a bestseller in Greece.

2024 – We organized the largest self-development event Greece had seen to date, welcoming more than 3,500 participants, with Robin Sharma as the main speaker.

2025 – I began working internationally with companies such as Rakuten Viber, Sanofi, and Allianz UK, and was invited to deliver a keynote at one of the world’s largest technology companies.

2026 – I completed five years of studies in systemic psychotherapy, reached 200 podcast episodes, and am currently writing my second book on human communication.

Grateful for everything taking place.
